Who Writes This Content

The practice-area guides, FAQs, and blog articles on this site are produced by the ATX Attorneys editorial team. Our focus is a single market — Austin and the surrounding Travis, Williamson, and Hays county area — and a defined set of practice areas. That focus is deliberate: it lets us write about the specific courts, deadlines, and procedures that Austin residents actually encounter, rather than generic national summaries.

How We Research

We build our content from primary and authoritative sources first, and we cite them by name where it matters:

• Texas statutes — the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code, Family Code, Property Code, Penal Code, Labor Code, Estates Code, and Business Organizations Code, as published by the Texas Legislature at statutes.capitol.texas.gov.
• Courts and agencies — the Travis County courts, the State Bar of Texas, the Travis Central Appraisal District, the Texas Workforce Commission, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, and the federal EEOC.
• Government data — for statistics, we use primary sources such as the Texas Department of Transportation, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and comparable public datasets, and we name the source and year in the text.

When we state a specific number, deadline, or dollar figure, it traces to one of these sources. We do not invent statistics, and we do not present estimates as if they were established facts.

Review and Updates

Every guide is reviewed by the editorial team before it is published. The law changes — statutes are amended, filing fees are adjusted, and court procedures evolve — so we revisit our content periodically and update it when the underlying law or data changes. Each blog article carries its publication date, and updated articles carry a revised date so you can see when the content was last touched.
